Wildlife, Taking the shot….

728x90-b392707fd4509dcbd959c6722007e428

What makes the perfect wildlife shot? is it the clarity, position, subject or all of the above?.

I love taking closeups of my subjects, in fact, I love them whether it is human, animal, or plant. I find that the closeup picture gives me the detail I desire to see in a picture.

Pictures are an amazing way to tell a story or to see the intricate detail that the human eye, (no matter how good they are) simply can’t see.

Today, I had the opportunity to take photos of the Wedgetail eagles around our home, I got some (what I consider) amazing shots.

We have four wedgetail eagles that have lived close to our home this year (2019-2020), they are a breeding pair with two amazingly healthy fledglings.

I thought I would share my love of photography with you and the wonderous photographs that I took.

The four wedgetail eagles that are around are obviously hunting our guinea fowl and chickens.

This has meant that although the drought has been severe for most animals in the local area, these beautiful birds have been able to raise two fledglings.

My family and I are always trying to get amazing shots of wildlife, we love to get close and personal with the fauna in our area.

Unfortunately for us, we usually don’t have the camera with us when. This happens more times than not and we miss some amazing photographic opportunities.

So what happens when you FINALLY get the shot??

Simple, you enjoy your moment and share it was others, for me, I am able to see that fauna or flora up close in all its glory.

This is what is the greatest pleasure for me to be able to see something that I could normally not up close.

Photography is a massive part of so many people’s lives, whether or not that takes a single photo in their life.

Places like Instagram would not exist if it wasn’t for people’s love of photos.

So what happens to photos once you have looked at the??

I have not a clue about others, but I have a folder on my computer that is for wildlife photos, another for blog photos and one more for flora photos.

Actually, I also have one for people closeups and family photos as well…. Hmm, note to self save some to an external hard drive.

Where do I go from here (channeling Pocahontas movie)???.

I am now looking to purchase a telephoto lens to be able to catch those little things that simply won’t allow close and personal experience.

I have had a magazine that I am submitting photographs to, whether or not they pick any up is yet to be seen (big yippy yay if they do).

Also making sure that my camera, not just my phone, is permanent with me. This is something that I have struggled to do, organisationally anyway.

We travel around so much that the camera really should be like my husband’s binoculars, a permanent attachment to me. So from now on this is my resolution to keep my camera with me.

I have also never tried baiting my subject in ( where you put food out as encouragement to come closer, not bait, bait) or taking photos of capture wildlife (in enclosures), as I have always preferred to see them in the wild, doing their own thing.

That whole section that I just wrote was basically my thought process as to where I go with taking photos on a regular basis.

Yes, I am a newbie in the photographic world and although I have been taking photos for a long time still have a lot to learn. The best bit is I get to do it every day, from home with my family by my side.

So, where do I go from here, keep snapping and enjoying the photographic adventure that is this amazing planet called mother earth….

What is your favorite type of photography???
